Privacy Policy

This site complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). This page explains, in plain terms, what is collected and what isn't.

What this site does not collect

No cookies, no analytics tools, no advertising, no tracking pixels. One small script runs in your browser: the welcome window described below; it contacts no server. Fonts and images are hosted on the site itself: your browser does not contact any other service when displaying these pages.

The welcome window

When you arrive, a first screen lets you choose your language, then a window tells you that you are on an artificial intelligence website and asks you to accept or decline. If you accept, your language choice and your acceptance are kept in your browser tab's memory for the length of your visit; they disappear when you close the tab and are never sent to Charon IA. If you decline, you are sent to Wikipedia, in the chosen language, and nothing is kept. This site exists only in French and English: the text of the window is offered in twelve other languages, but the French text prevails. If your browser can translate (for example Chrome or Edge on a computer), choosing another language asks it to translate the page: the translation happens entirely on your device, by your browser, which may download a language model once from its own provider; no text from this page is sent to Charon IA or to any translation service. An automatic translation may contain errors: the French text prevails.

Email

If you write to the contact address, your name, email address and message are used only to reply to you. They are never sold or shared. You can ask to view, correct or delete them by writing to the same address.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may retain technical logs (such as IP addresses) for a short period, for the security and proper functioning of the service.
